One of the most exciting/scary times of your life happens when you are packing for college.
There is so much excitement about finally being able to leave home but also a whole lot of sadness about leaving home too (can you tell my emotions were all over the place when I was moving into college 😆).
I was downright scared when I moved to college. I wanted to be prepared for everything.
There are SO many things every college student needs that can be really overwhelming putting a college packing list together.
This is the ACTUAL list of what to bring to college. All the products that you will really need!

What To Bring To College:

College Clothes:

When moving into college, you can be tempted to bring your whole into closet. Believe us, from personal experience, that is NOT a good idea.
Stick with clothes you will really actually wear and plan a trip back home to get clothes for the next season. That way, your tiny dorm closet won't turn into a hoarders scene (and unfortunately, they get like that QUICK!).

Dorms get dirty, and they dirty a lot quicker than one would expect.

 These were my cleaning essentials:
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Downy Wrinkle Releaser (AMAZING!)
  • Laundry Bags
  • Dryer Sheets
  • Trash Bags
  • All-Purpose Cleaner
  • Paper Towels
  • Small Vacuum
  • Disinfectant Spray
  • Dawn Soap
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Swiffer WetJet and Refills (this saves you more money in the long run compared to the original Swiffer TRUST ME)
Dorm Essentials:
There are some things that a college freshman living in the dorms just cannot live without.

Some of these might seem obvious, but you would surprised what you easily forget during the hustle and bustle of transitioning to college.

But no worries, I've got your back. These are the absolute MUST HAVE dorm essentials you can't forget to pack!

Mattress Topper
Mattress Protector
Accent Pillows
Clip-On Fan
First Aid-Kit
Allergy Medicine
Cold and Flu Medicine
Tampons and Pads
Food Storage
Paper Plates
Ziploc Bags
Plastic Silverware
Water Bottle
Command Strips
Must-Have Electronics:
It's 2019 and technology has taken over.

Here's my list of technology essentials that you must have in college and therefore, in your dorm:

Headphones (obvi Airpods are what every college student is wearing...at least it seems like it!)
10' Chargers (for phone, computer, watch, tablet, etc)
Extension Cords
Power Strip (I recommend a surge proof one like this!)
Portable Charger (I use this one everyday and it SAVES my life!)
Amazon Echo
Sound Machine (a college LIFE-SAVER)
College School Supplies:
Unfortunately, the days of going school supply shopping with your mom at Target are over (RIP easier times).

But school supplies are still a huge essential to buy for college and therefore your must pack them.

Here's what I used my freshman year and highly recommend:

Backpack (we swear by this brand)
Hybrid Notebooks (if you don't know what I'm talking about, click here to see!)
Pens (favorite all time pens...they're erasable!!)
Desk Organizers
Planner (I use this one!)
Desk Lamp
Hole Punch
Random Things To Not Forget:
Some things just don't fit into any category well, but are still a necessity.

Here's a list of those random college essentials:

Rain Boots
Paper Plates and Utensils
Water Bottle (this is the one I use all the time!)
Coffee Maker (this is the Keurig I use!)
Plastic Cups
DON'T Bring This:
There are always some items that we are convinced we need, but then never end up using.

Take it from someone who has been there before, these are the items that you will never use.

So don't bring them, you'll thank me later when you don't have a super cluttered dorm room!

Sports Gear (unless you're on a sports team of course 🙂
Real Utensils and Plates
Your entire wardrobe
Extra Sheets (you'll never use the second set)
Iron (hello wrinkle release spray)
Your nice jewelry (you will lose it if you do, so don't)
Bulky Luggage
